About

Dark Horse Customs exists because of Dark Horse Detailing.

Quality over quantity. A family run business with an eye for detail. Plates made with a detailer's eye.

About

Dark Horse Detailing is the established business — the one with the local track record, the repeat customers, and the reputation that Customs is built on.

It started with a passion for cars and a habit of cleaning them obsessively. Somewhere along the way, that turned into work. And once Matt was working on other people's cars every day, he kept running into the same problem: the number plates coming off vehicles in for detailing were poor, and when he ordered replacements himself, what came back wasn't much better. So he decided to make the plates himself, properly.

About

What customers are saying

Most people don't clock how good these plates are until they've got one in their hands. It's the unusual borders and the gloss finish that catches people off guard. Photos don't really do it justice.

The standard

The same eye he brings to a whole car, applied to every plate.

These aren't print-shop plates picked off a shelf. The same attention that goes into detailing a car, the refusal to send something out that isn't right, gets brought to every set. If there's a rough edge, trapped dust, or anything that shouldn't be there, it gets remade. That's not a policy. That's just how he works.

DVLA compliant — no exceptions

Every plate, every type, every order. Not selectively legal. Properly legal.

Ceramic coated as standard

On every order. Not an upsell. Not a checkbox at checkout. It goes on because it should.

Made and out within 24 hours

Once documents are verified. Not 3–5 working days. Tomorrow.

Free delivery

Nothing to add at checkout. It's included because sending plates second class isn't a standard worth keeping.
